Thorney Lakes and Caravan Park

A family run business established in 1993, the setting attracts a host of wildlife and regularly visited by otters, badgers, rabbits, deer and 70 species of birdlife (RSPB survey), including kingfishers nesting on site.

Just a short level walk from the caravan park, the two miles of nature trails are perfect for a short stroll or to enjoy a chat with the local fisher folk about the ‘one that got away!’ There is ample parking, a thatched shelter and disabled access.

Burrow Hill Cider

The local Cider and Cider Brandy Farm. Stocks a wide variety of Somerset Cider and Cider Brancdy and Aperitifs.

Based on a farm in South Somerset, we sit amongst 160 acres of cider apple orchards at the base of Burrow Hill, a famous Somerset landmark with a single sycamore on top that looks out across the Somerset Levels.The farm has been pressing cider for the past 150 years and distilling the cider into Somerset Cider Brandy since 1989.

The Lowland Games

People flock to the Lowland Games for all the fun and frolics to be had in one fabulous day. Held on the 30th of July, this year’s fun includes the highlight of the day, the River Raft Race with competitors in the most fancy of fancy dress. How often will you get the chance to see the Pink Ladies competing against Batman and local firemen to be the first down the river?
