Asparagus boxes, Dan’s driving & Seb’s travels

Sunday ramble

Asparagus box delivered to your door…..

Good morning, I hope this finds you in good order?  I ought to never be surprised by how I am woken but even I jumped a bit when I finally opened my eyes to find a hooded figure and a slightly shorter one in a full masked knights helmet at the foot of our bed? Turns out they were Aragorn and Sauron (Lord of the Rings) apparently! Either way they looked jolly scary!!

It’s been a wonderfully busy week at The Smokery with the response to the launch of the Asparagus Box almost catching me by surprise.  I’m so delighted it is already proving so popular as in my humble opinion it is one of the very best boxes we do during the year and the asparagus this year is utterly delicious.

It contains: –

Asparagus Box

2 x bundles English Asparagus

100g Smoked Salmon

200g Streaky Bacon

2 x Hot Smoked Trout Fillets

1 x Hot Smoked Chicken Breast

All delivered to any door of your choosing for just £35.

You can also add bundles of Asparagus to any order you like .

I finish with news of two of my brilliant crew.  As you may remember Seb left us in January to go travelling for seven months before returning here in September to start with us full time whilst doing a degree.  He has been in touch to say he is back in Kathmandu  having been trekking for three weeks to Everest Base Camp.  Apparently his first shower in two weeks was very welcome and his next stop is New Zealand.  The other very exciting news is that Dan, who joined us full time last September as an apprentice, passed his driving test on Friday which is brilliant news especially as he can now drive the car he spent a year saving up to buy.

Mrs P and I will never take for granted what a brilliant team we have at B&F they all work incredibly hard and lookout for each other and always go the extra mile to help out and support us when things don’t quite go as we may have planned.  We are beyond lucky and hugely grateful to them all.

I must away as it would appear that the Battle of Five Armies has now broken out at the foot of our bed and some sort of parental intervention is definitely required!

Have a lovely Sunday.

My very, very best regards,

Jess
