Edith P Sunday Ramble #1

 

 

Good morning. WE’VE ARRIVED in a very hot, very sunny France! Today it is not Jesse writing but his favourite, amazing, talented, super cool second daughter Edith.P!! I have taken the wheel this week because I’m too hot and sunburned and can’t spend all day in the pool! Also because I thought it would be nice to let Daddy have a break this week. Recently we’ve all been sitting, sunning and swimming and playing pool volleyball (very competitively). Nancy and Daddy have been taking daily trips to the local bakery to collect all our supplies for breakfast (croissants, baguettes, crepes etc) fresh from the oven. Stanley has become a little ‘water Gollum’ in the sense that he never leaves the pool but when he does he looks a lot like Gollum from The Lord of the Rings! Mummy, Nancy and Bert have all tanned like they’ve lived in France their whole life although Nancy has had a head start having taken every opportunity at home (when the sun does come out) to work on her tan, while me and Daddy have just gone red and freckled (as usual!) It’s not fair!! Thursday afternoon was especially fun as Bertie very stupidly said in the depths of a girls vs boys volleyball match in front of Nancy “the males shall be dominant” so Nancy and I started playing a little more violently and even though Bert was struggling, Stan decided floating around in an inflatable tyre singing to himself was the right thing to do in that scenario! Obviously the girls annihilated the boys (Bertie disagrees) and in celebration we dragged each other round the pool on the lilo singing random 80s songs at the top of our voices!

Now the pool is calling me and hopefully another “war of the pool noodles” with Daddy or a game of croquet (of which Daddy will probably loose) so I will bid you goodbye and I hope I will be allowed to write again soon as I have enjoyed this very much.
