Good morning I hope this finds you in fine fettle? The sun is already blazing down here and it sounds like what I thought was a simple task of filling a water tank in the filleting room, which Bert and Stan assured me was well within their capabilities, has turned into the inevitable water fight and a full blown wrestling match to decide who is in charge of the pressure hose! I know you are sitting there reading this wondering why I expected anything else and the only answer I have to that is that I eternally live in hope!
Pattisson Towers is full of very weary loons with the approaching end of term traditions of sports days, awards evenings and school trips seriously beginning to take their toll on all of us. Mrs P and Nancy are readying themselves for a grown up girls trip to London for a couple of days as a well done to Nancy for making it to the end of her GCSEs in one piece. This means that I am to be left in sole charge of the other three and judging by the amount of lists, and the length of them, Mrs P is issuing to me on an almost daily basis she is not entirely sure that I am up to the task. As I keep telling her “how hard can it be? it’s not as if they are still babes in arms”. It was at this point that she held my gaze rather less than lovingly told me to read the endless lists and that Edie would be reporting to her if the boys were out of control or I was being an arse! At least I know there is a spy in the camp now and that possibly the unintentional suggestion that running Pattisson Towers was easy might turn out to be a catastrophic error.
I must away as I have to get the boys back for breakfast and dry them out before yet another cricket match this morning.
